My New Supplements with Agel Cal
September 9th, 2008 by jackiep | Filed under Agel, BusinessBefore Agel, I went on my own wellness campaign. I found a blueprint for what to do in (the first edition of) You: The Owner’s Manual. That introduced a huge pill-based supplement regimen into my life. Then a friend showed me Agel and its innovative gel-suspension technology for nutritional supplements. Agel EXO and MIN covered most my needs, but I still had big heartburn-provoking calcium pills each evening. Ugh! Now with Agel CAL, I actually look forward to a yummy calcium supplement in chocolate gel after dinner.
As Paul Zane Pilzer says is common these days, as I got interested in health and wellness, I got interested in nutritional supplements. I researched the topic by talking to my doctor, reading books and squinting at a lot of labels in the health food store. Then I searched the web, read the Recommended Daily Allowances (RDA) as well as Wikipedia descriptions of various vitamins, minerals and supplements. Way, way too much information.
I threw all the data in a spreadsheet, picked what I wanted to take and bought jars of vitamins.
I soon realized that I needed to be even more organized than that. I needed to do the basics like remembering what I had and had not yet taken each day. Also, I wanted to spread out the various supplements for better absorption. I learned that our bodies are very particular about calcium — only absorbing so much at once and only when certain other calcium-helping ingredients are present but not when other calcium-reducing ingredients are taken at the same time. Agel CAL was formulated with that in mind…but I get ahead of the story.
I decided to do a weekly pill tray to keep it all under control — this was pre-Agel, and especially pre-Agel CAL remember. I took these photos of my last giant sort just as I joined Agel.
Now that Agel announced CAL, here’s the corresponding gel-suspension line-up: Agel EXO (for anti-oxidants), Agel OHM (a B booster), Agel MIN(for vitamins), Agel CAL (for calcium). The lone pill is fish-oil, and I’m not hoping for a gel replacement there - blecch.
Hooray, no sorting required! Much simpler.
I encourage everyone to understand how they can supplement their own diets by talking to their doctor, researching products, and taking care of themselves. My supplement plan is for me. You probably have different needs, concerns, and eating habits than I do. What I do may not be the best for you to do. If you’re taking medication or have allergies, please be especially careful and consult a doctor. You decide what’s best for you. To find out more about how Agel can fit in your plan, click here.
